Football: Wayne Valley 40, Passaic 0


Senior Billy Crank threw for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead Wayne Valley (2-1). The senior finished with 16 completions for 204 yards. Junior Mark DeLuise and sophomore Will Kearney scored two touchdowns apiece. First, DeLuise scored on a 40 yard pass from Crank. Next, Passaic blocked a Valley field goal attempt, but Kearney scooped up the ball and ran for an 18-yard score. DeLuise then ran for a 2 yard TD. Crank then threw to Kearney for a 35 yard touchdown. Senior Dave Drozjock returned a punt for a 55 yard touchdown. Crank capped off the scoring with a 4 yard touchdown run.

The defense, meanwhile, recorded Valley's first shutout win since 2010, when they blanked both Passaic Tech and West Milford. Justin Walker led the defense against Passaic with 9 tackles, including 2 sacks. John Rondi had 8 tackles, including 2 sacks. DeLuise had 6 tackles and an interception. Taylor Kishfy had 6 tackles, including 1 sack. Mike Koropsak added a sack. DeLuise finished with 83 combined yards on offense. Andrew Popadics had 55 yards receiving.
