Dan Kowal rushed for two touchdowns and threw for one to Massimo Aronson (32 yards) to lead DePaul to a 38-28 triumph over Lakeland last night in Wayne. Wymere Robinson ran for two touchdowns for DePaul. Matt Jachera drilled a 44 yard field goal. Lakeland (7-1) nearly got the ball back when Dan Foesel fumbled with two minutes left and DePaul clinging to a 31-28 lead. George Monsen dove on the ball in the scrum. The recovery led to Robinson's second touchdown, which sealed the verdict.
Kowal threw for 101 yards and ran for 163 yards. Aronson had 61 yards recieving. Joe Moreno ran for 96 yards.
DePaul has been cruising since losing to St. Joseph's and Seton Hall Prep in the first two weeks of the season by a combined 98-41 margin. This win should give them a home game in the upcoming Group 3 playoffs.
"This is definitely a big win for us," Foesel said. "Lakeland was undefeated. We showed them that we're a better team than them."
