The news should have probably hit Joe Leicht like a ton of bricks.
Leicht, the Wayne Valley boys basketball coach, had just been informed that his starting center Andrew Popadics (6-foot-4) would miss at least six weeks of the season with a slight meniscus injury suffered at the end of football season.
Keeping the team poised for that stretch run now falls to the four other starters – senior Kyle Greve (pictured above) and juniors Nick Giuliano, Alex Kokos and Nick Goodwin.
