Wayne Hills (No. 9) will play top-seeded DePaul in the quarterfinals Saturday. Hills beat Passaic (No. 8) in the first round, 8-4. Brianna Hulbert led the way with two RBI. Melanie Cieucich, Keely Hassert, Sophia Levin, Alana Luna and Rachel Vellis all knocked in runs. DePaul drew a bye in the first round.
Wayne Valley (No. 11) lost it's first round game to Hawthorne (No. 6), 3-2. After Wayne Valley took a one-run lead in the top of the seventh with a
run, Hawthorne won it with two runs in the bottom of the inning, 3-2, in
Hawthorne. Gabrielle Goodwin and Marissa Murino had the RBI for Valley.
