Football: Paramus 12, Wayne Valley 10

Billy Crank threw for 185 yards, including a 55 yard touchdown pass to sophomore Nick Goodwin. Mark DeLuise ran for 62 yards. Ryan McDonald had 5 receptions. Jacob Anderson kicked a 39-yard field goal. Jason Dinan paced Valley's defense with 11 tackles, including a sack. DeLuise had 8 tackles. John Rondi had 7 tackles, including a sack. Both Colin Bennett and Liam Connors had 6 tackles and an interception. Taylor Kishfy and McDonald also had 6 tackles each. Anderson had two tackles for a loss. Justin Walker also had a sack

Matt Alpher booted two field goals, including a go-ahead 28-yarder with about five minutes left in regulation. Tyler Smith scored for Paramus on a 17 yard run.

Trailing 12-10, Wayne Valley (3-3) drove to the Paramus 25 yard line with 1:12 remaining in the game. They were nearly within Anderson's field goal range. At that juncture, it would have been a 42-yard boot, which is far from a sure thing in high school. Attempting to get closer, Crank rolled left and threw down field. The ball was picked off by a diving Parmaus player to end Valley's chances.
