Wayne Hills football player charged in assault files $15M suit claiming false arrest, violation of rights

A Wayne Hills football player, who was among nine players charged last season in a controversial assault and the only one to be cleared, has filed a federal suit seeking at least $15 million in damages for false arrest and violation of his constitutional rights. Plaintiff Troy Zaffino of Wayne names as defendants in his civil suit the Township of Wayne; Wayne Police Department; Wayne Board of Education and its individual officers and trustees; Mayor Christopher P. Vergano; Police Chief John Reardon; Capt. James Clarke; Wayne Interim Superintendant of Schools Michael Roth; and as-yet unidentified police officers. Click here to read more.
