Football: Wayne Hills 31, Ramapo 24
Wayne Hills (8-0) trailed Ramapo (5-3) at halftime, 21-10. Evidently, it was just a bump in the road. Hills thorougly outplayed Ramapo in the second half to record an impressive come from behind win. Hills gained just 31 rushing yards in the first half, with Rampo's Matt Ambrose recording five talkes for a loss. Hills exploded for 150 rushing yards in the second half. Ramapo's Ryan Dougherty threw five completions to Doug Norkett for 111 yards in the first half. The tandem was almost entirely shut down in the second half as they combined for one short completion.Ramapo jumped out to a 7-0 lead when Dougherty found Norkett for a 55 yard touchdown. Hills tied it on a Dom Santoro 21 yard run. Ramapo added to the lead in the second quarter on a 2-yard touchdown push by Zach Boucher and a 14 yard Dougherty to Norkett touchdown throw. The third touchdown was set up when Pat O'Hagen forced Kevin Olsen fumble with a jarring sack. Hills got a 30 yard field goal from Erik Martinez on the last play of the first half.
"The field goal was big," said Hills coach Chris Olsen. "I told them at halftime if we could score on the first series of the second half we would be in good shape."
That's exactly what happened. The score came on a 37-yard screen from Olsen to Andrew Monoghan. Wayne's next two scores came on 38 and 35 yard runs by Christian Rodriguez.
Joe Lane spearheaded the defensive charge with five tackles in the second half, four of which were for a loss. Garrett Rubin had six tackles in the second half.
"We had to pick it up in the second half," Lane said. "We just dug down deep. I knew we could win this game."

Alex Trani ran for 189 yards and scored on runs of 20, 21 and 35 yards. The senior also led the defense with 9 tackles. Mike Eckrote threw a 35 yard touchdown to Nick Gildea and a 41 yard touchdown to Luke Primerano. Anthony Landberg added 83 yards rushing and scored on a 5 yard run. The sophomore also ran for a two point conversion. Rob Zielinski raced for a 69 yard touchdown. Landberg also helped the cause on defense, with 8 spills. Football: DePaul 35, Tenafly 14
Joe Moreno gained 224 years and scored two touchdowns to lead DePaul (6-1). George Monsen had 74 receiving yards and scored two touchdowns. Moreno reached the end zone on 15 and 24 yard scoring jaunts. Monsen scored on a 34 yard TD pass from Travis Bligh and on a 34 yard pass from Zach Bednarcsyk. Davon Jacobs added a 13 yard scoring rush. Zach Rush caught two touchdown passes from Steve Sobo in the second half for Tenafly, which has lost four straight games.Photos To Come

Passaic County Boys Soccer Tournament Semifinals
Wayne Valley 2, Clifton 0: Alex Sherin and Mike DeLuise each scored in the second half to lead Wayne Valley in the semifinals of the Passaic County Tournament in Clifton. David Beland added an assist and Nick Mihalik made nine saves for Wayne Valley (13-3). Joel Hernandez made nine saves for Clifton (9-4).

Rachel Egyed recorded six saves for Clifton. Francesca Boylan had three stops for fourth-seeded Wayne Valley (8-4-1).

Football: Wayne Hills 28, Ridgewood 21
Christian Rodriguez scored two touchdowns and rushed for 88 yards. Dom Santoro rushed for 152 yards and a score to lead Wayne Hills. Kevin Olsen completed nine of 15 passes for 139 yards and one touchdown, a 10-yard pass to Andrew Monahan in the first quarter to tie the game at 7-7. Joe Lane led the defense with 11 tackles. Jeff Feagles led Ridgewood with 126 rushing yards, including an 80 yard score. Jason Canella had a 13-yard touchdown run and Peter Reuter added a 3-yard score for Ridgewood. Tripp Telesco had 16 tackles for the Maroons."I'm very disappointed in our defense," said Hills coach Chris Olsen. "Our tackling was very poor. You can bet that there will be changes."

Luke Primerano had a 30-yard touchdown reception from Mike Eckrote in the second quarter and Alex Trani added a 37-yard run for a score in the fourth quarter to pace Wayne Valley. Trani paced the team with 80 yards rushing. Anthony Landberg, sometimes lining up in the Wildcat, added 34 ground yards. Eckrote had 68 yards passing. Vinnie Greco compiled 8 tackles.Ryan Dougherty threw two touchdowns in the first half and ran for another in the fourth quarter to lead Ramapo. Dougherty had a 70-yard pass to Doug Norkett in the first quarter and a 5-yard toss to Justin Rice in the second quarter to pace Ramapo to a 17-7 halftime lead. Dougherty added a 1-yard run for a score in the fourth quarter. Matt Alpert and Ralph Hroncich has touchdown runs in the third quarter for Ramapo.

Wayne Valley 5, Pompton Lakes 2: Anthony Nucci scored two goals and Adem Isa added a goal and three assists to lead Wayne Valley in the quarterfinals of the Passaic County Tournament in Wayne. Alex Sherin and Kevin Traupman each added a goal and Nick Mihalik made four saves for Wayne Valley (9-3). Miguel Almazon scored two goals and Andrew Gavrun made 10 saves for Pompton Lakes (5-3-1).
DePaul 3, Passaic Tech 0: Cody Pepe, Danny Hernandez and Nick DiBiase each scored to pace DePaul in the quarterfinal round of the Passaic County Tournament in Wayne. Eric Klenofsky posted the shutout for DePaul (7-2-1) with six saves. Passaic Tech is 7-5-1.

Kevin Olsen threw for 224 yards to lead Hills (5-0) to an easy win. Andrew Monahan caught two of Olsen's scoring strikes (45 and 33 yards). Dom Santoro caught a screen from Olsen and raced 55 yards for a score. Christian Rodriguez had for a 5 yard touchdown. Monahan finished with 150 receiving yards. Wayne Hills 5, Eastern Christian 1: Mike Locantore scored two goals and David Mintz, Tyler Kulsar and Jason Gold each added a goal to lead Wayne Hills in the first round of the Passaic County Tournament in Wayne. Paul Cava made seven saves for Wayne Hills (7-2). Eastern Christian is 0-6.

DePaul 4, Passaic Tech 0: Ashley Sanchez sparked sixth-seeded DePaul (3-2-2) past 11th-seeded Passaic Tech (1-6) in the first round of the Passaic County Tournament in Wayne. Sanchez collected two goals and an assist, while Nicole Appet and Emily Cutler added goals. Tiffany Martinez used three saves to register the shutout. Miranda Bandeli stopped 15 shots for Passaic Tech.

Andrew Monahan scored three touchdowns, including two from quarterback Kevin Olsen, to lead Wayne Hills. Monahan had catches of 20 and 12 yards and had a 6-yard run, all for scores, in the first half to lead Wayne Hills to a 27-0 halftime advantage. Olsen had a 1-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and Dom Santoro added a 4-yard run in the third quarter for Wayne Hills. Santoro had nine carries for 104 yards and Monahan had seven rushes for 67 yards for Wayne Hills.

Hester added two more touchdown receptions in the second quarter. First, he hauled in a 47-yard pass from Bednarcyk. Next, he caught a 9-yarder from Bligh.
