The Spartans junior right fielder promptly made sure Hawthorne’s comeback fell short in the first round of the Passaic County baseball tournament. The Bears scored seven times to tie the score, 9-9, in the bottom of the fifth, but Jones hit an RBI single in the sixth and blasted an inside-the-park grand slam in the seventh to propel DePaul to a 15-11 win.
