Skiffo Drake of WayneSports.com hit this game during his lunch hour in Parsippany: Shane Thompson rushed 23 times for 174 yards and one touchdown and also made 11 tackles at linebacker when West Morris defeated Parsippany Hills, 24-20, yesterday in Parsippany.
West Morris trailed, 14-7, before quarterback John Gutowski connected with Tom Cabarle for a 76-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Thompson then scored on a 1-yard run and Connor Young followed with the extra point for a 21-14 lead at halftime.
West Morris extended its lead to 24-14 when Connor Young hit a 26-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. Parsippany Hills closed out the scoring when Dan Jamieson caught an 11-yard TD pass from Mike Comerford
