Football: Wayne Valley 16, Passaic Tech 0

Andrew DeFilippis had 10 tackles and a sack and Alex Trani had 8 tackles and a sack to lead Valley (2-0). Mike Fusco and Kyle Fant had six tackles and a sack apiece. Corey Conforth had a sack as well. Greg LaNeve rushed for 83 yards and scored on rushes of 3 and 14 yards. Matt Miller gained 73 yards on the ground. Andrew Fournier passed for 206 yards. Anthony Verrilli had 5 catches for 87 yards. Christian MacDonald had 4 catches for 38 yards. Matt Deitz connected on a 22 yard field goal.

The offense gained 383 total yards and the defense held Passaic Tech to 99 yards.

"The defense did great, but the offense is not consistent," said coach Brian O'Connor, who was at his wife's side only a few hours earlier as she gave birth to the couple's son, Sean Thomas.

"We couldn't have Coach O'Connor's baby be born on a day we lost," LaNeve said. "We had to get the victory. The defense played huge. We had great field position. Working with half a field is always an advantage."
