Wayne Valley (16-9) defeated Kennedy just three days after losing to Kennedy in the Passaic County Tournament semifinals.
Nick Siljee’s layup at the end of regulation sent the game into overtime. The Indians had rallied from a 10 point deficit. Valley cruised to victory in overtime, with Jason Rosenberg nailing 6 foul shots.
“We went to a 1-3-1 half court trap because we had used up our other defenses,” Valley head coach Joe Leicht said. “From that point on we created some turnovers and we were able to get back into the game.”
Siljee led all scorers with 29 points. Jason Rosenberg added 16 points, 15 assists and four steals. Keith Greve and Tom Larranaga tallied 10 points apiece.
