Mike Quinn drove for a basket with 55 seconds left and Matt Heskins converted two free throws with 48 seconds showing to give Wayne Hills (8-8) a 50-46 before 1,400 at Wayne Valley High. Heskins scored a game-high 17 points and Sam Pressler chipped in with 15 for Wayne Hills. Quinn and Chris Fonti had 9 and 7 points respectively.
Senior point guard Jason Rosenberg topped Wayne Valley (10-6) with 16 points and 10 assists. Nick Siljee and Andrew Herasimtschuk came up with 11 points apiece for Valley. Herasimtschuk and Keith Greve pulled in 8 rebounds apiece. Siljee had 6 boards.
"Everybody was saying that Wayne Valley was better than us this year," Heskins said. "We lost a few games early this year, so we wanted to come in here and right the ship. We're improving with each game. Tonight we did a great job against Rosenberg and Siljee, two great players."
