Football: DePaul Wants Out Of Division

Officials from DePaul traveled to the NJSIAA offices Wednesday to tell the association that the school does not belong in an all-non-public division in the new Big North Conference.
And officials from Paramus Catholic walked in right behind them to ask, "What about us?"
The association’s League and Conference Committee heard arguments from both schools. DePaul said it doesn’t belong in a division with the likes of Don Bosco and Bergen Catholic because of its small size and location in Passaic County. Protest Affiliation
Officials at DePaul and Paramus Catholic are expected to appear before the NJSIAA leagues and conferences committee today to appeal their placement in an all non-public division of the new Big North Conference. Athletic director Joe Lennon of DePaul did not want to comment before the hearing, but he has expressed displeasure in the past about being placed in a division entirely made up of larger Bergen County non-public schools.
