Football: Wayne Hills 17, Wayne Valley 14, OT


Billy Crank threw two second quarter touchdowns of 6 and 11 yards to Mark DeLuise as Valley stormed to a 14-0 lead by halftime. Hills fought back to tie the game in the fourth quarter. Justin DeGroat ran for a 28 yard score in the third quarter. Justin Hogan bulled in four a 2 yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Valley had the ball first in overtime, but the possession ended with a Jake Anderson field goal drifting barely wide left. Hills won it on an Erik Martinez 35-yard field goal in overtime. Hills increased it's series lead over Valley to 7-2.

Crank had 129 yards passing for Valley, before leaving the game in the third quarter with an injury. Valley also lost running backs Anthony Duncan and Anthony Landberg to injury in the third quarter. DeLuise had 59 yards receiving. Kearney had 40 yards rushing. Valley's defense was led by Dave Drozjock, who had 16 tackles. John Rondi added 10. Anderson had 8 tackles, including 2 sacks. Taylor Kishfy had 6 tackles. Justin Walker and Sofian Obaid had 5 tackles.

Hills was led by quarterback Justin DeGroat, who threw for 37 yards and ran for 165 yards. Justin Hogan tacked on 50 rushing yards. Nick Falzarano had three receptions. Martin Kilroy led the defense with 9 tackles. Hogan and Sean Slazyk had 8 tackles each. James Kelly had 5 spills.


NOTE: This was the sixth game between the two schools in the last five years. Four of those six games have been decided by a touchdown or less.
