Constant, stifling pressure backed up by energetic stick-to-stick
defense. West Morris Central was unyielding in refusing to allow Wayne Hills breathing room in any area of the field.
Sparked by two goals from junior forward Lindsay Roller, West Morris defeated second-seeded Wayne
Hills, 3-1, on Wednesday in the North 1, Group 3 field hockey
championship game. The Highlanders will play Warren Hills, a 4-1 winner
over South Plainfield, in a state semifinal Friday on neutral turf.
"We came out a little nervous and West Morris was pretty much poised and confident all the way through," Wayne
Hills first-year coach Tina Londino said. "They were getting to a lot
of the 50-50 balls and taking advantage of extra possessions and play in
