Running back Davon Jacobs carried eight times for 71 yards and a touchdown and returned an interception 77 yards for a score and Wymere Robinson carried 16 times for 118 yards as DePaul defeated Wayne Valley, 28-7, last night at Wayne Valley High.
Jacobs raced 25 yards for a TD in the first period and Alex Bonagura kicked the first of his four extra points.
After a 1-yard TD bolt by Rob Foster, Anthony Verrilli caught a 15-yard scoring aerial from Andrew Fournier as Wayne Valley drew to within 14-7 at the intermisson.
After a scoreless third period, DePaul drew away with a 1-yard sneak from quarterback Dan Kowal and Jacobs' interception return. Fournier paced Valley with 115 passing yards. Verrilli accumulated 79 receiving yards. Andrew DeFilippis and Alex Trani had 13 and 12 tackles respectively. DeFillipis now has 51 tackles on the year.

DePaul's has since bounced back since losing its first two games of the year to St. Joseph's-Montvale and Seton Hall Prep. "Those games helped us," said DePaul coach John McKenna. "I know we took a beating, but those were two of the best teams in the state. It helped prepare us for the rest of the season."
