Wayne Valley: Any one of Wayne Valley's close losses to Clifton (2-0), Wayne Hills (7-0) or Lakeland (3-0) could be viewed as the reason the Indians didn't reach the playoffs in 2009. Failing to reach the postseason for the first time since 2004 has motivated this senior-laden team. The Indians have a new quarterback, senior Andrew Fournier. He has several experienced players with whom to work at the skill positions, but the Indians' schedule is among the most difficult in North Jersey. They'll play five straight games against teams ranked in the North Jersey preseason Top 25 from Sept. 17-Oct. 15. Click here to read more.
Wayne Hills: For the first time since 2004, the Patriots aren't the reigning North 1, Group 3 champions. They'll start a sophomore quarterback, Kevin Olsen, the third of the coach's sons to play in the program. Olsen is more advanced than most sophomores because he has been around the program since he was a youngster. He doesn't have to carry this offense because Brian Dowling is one of the most productive players in New Jersey. Dowling, a senior who lines up at tailback and receiver, produced 1,644 total yards and scored 27 touchdowns as a junior. Click here to read more
DePaul: The Spartans lost their best player, Shakim Phillips, to graduation but bring back important players at nearly every skill position. Senior Danny Kowal is back at quarterback for the second year, and has an offer to play at Monmouth University. Last year's leading receiver, senior Dan Foesel, is also back. Meanwhile, the backfield packs plenty of punch led by senior Wymere Robinson, a punishing back at 6-1, 230. Joe Moreno and Nashawn Daniels add the speed that will make the Spartans dangerous. The defense is led by junior defensive back Davon Jacobs. The biggest question is the offensive line, which features five new starters. Click here to read more
