Football: Ramapo 22, Wayne Valley 14

Sean Dougherty passed for two touchdowns in the fourth quarter to rally undefeated Ramapo to a 22-14 victory over Wayne Valley (3-2).  Trailing 14-3 in the fourth quarter, Dougherty went into action. He got Ramapo to within 14-10 with an 8-yard toss to Connor Russo. Then, Ramapo marched 99-yards with 1:33 remaining and took a 16-14 lead with 5 seconds remaining when Dougherty found Kenny Clarke with a 20-yard aerial. Ramapo added its final touchdown on 50-yard interception return by Matt Del Duca.

Billy Crank threw two touchdown passes to Liam Connors for Wayne Valley. Mark DeLuise ran for 129 yards. Crank passed for 112 yards. Connor caught 6 passes for 67 yards. Dave Drozjock had three receptions. John Rondi and Drozjock led the defense with 8 tackles apiece. Jason Dinan had 7 tackles and Ryan McDonald had 6. Justin Walker and Taylor Kishfy had 1.5 sacks each. Rondi and Assem Nemri had one sack apiece. Drozjock had an interception.

Ramapo's game winning drive was aided by a very questionable roughing call on Valley's Mark DeLuise. Officials charged DeLuise with striking his opponent on the head or neck with his forearm.
Cowardly and gutless referees fled from the field afterwards, instead of offering an explanation.

"We blew too many scoring opportunities," said Valley coach Brian O'Connor. "We missed a field goal, had another one blocked, gave up the ball on downs and turned it over. You can't do that against a team like Ramapo."
