Boys Basketball: Wayne Valley 57, Paramus 13

Sophomore forward Luke Primerano led nine teammates in scoring with 14 points for Wayne Valley, winner of three games in a row. Guard Tom Larranaga and forward Andrew Herasimtschuk had 11 points apiece for Wayne Valley. Primerano and classmate Andrew Keane had 7 rebounds apiece.

Boys Basketball: Wayne Valley 64, Passaic Valley 53

Jay Mustafa had 20 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds to lead Wayne Valley (8-6) past Passaic Valley (11-4). Tom Larranaga and Scott Arkin had 13 and 10 points respectively. Andrew Herasimtschuk had 8 points and 8 rebounds.

Boys Basketball: Paramus Catholic 66, DePaul 38

Kiy Hester had 24 points for DePaul (6-6).

Boys Basketball: West Milford 55, Wayne Hills 54

Junior swing Garvin Jones connected on a 3-pointer with 20 seconds remaining to give West Milford the victory in West Milford. Wayne Hills had difficulty getting off a final shot because of West Milford's pressure defense until the buzzer, when Matt Heskins' attempt was long. Jones collected 15 points, six rebounds and three steals and Tyler Coyle had 14 points and 10 boards for West Milford. Senior center Pete Daibes netted a game-high 19 points and had seven rebounds, Darius Huber added 11 points and Mike Driesse chipped in with 10 points, seven boards and five assists for Wayne Hills.

It was frustrating for senior guard Tom Larranaga to have to sit on the bench with three fouls in the second quarter. When he returned to the Wayne Valley lineup in the second half Larranaga made up for his down time by scoring six points in the final 28 seconds of regulation to send the game into overtime before Wayne Valley emerged with a 74-67 double-overtime victory over Union City. Boys Basketball: Coaches vs. Cancer Classic: Ramapo 59, Wayne Hills 37

As an senior with experience for Ramapo, Tyler Ward likes to run the show whether is on the court or the gridiron. He was the quarterback for the football team and now he guides his squad as a point guard. He dropped in three 3-pointers to finish with 18 points and played strong man defense for Franklin Lakes in the Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament at Paterson Kennedy.
Wayne Hills, led by center Pete Daibes' nine points and five by Mike Driesse, built a 17-10 lea din the first quarter but was scoreless for the ensuing 12:52. Ramapo's relentless defense had a lot to do with that but Wayne Hills couldn't buy a 2-pointer. Click here to read more.

Scott Arkin had 26 points and 10 boards for Valley. Tom Larranaga and Andrew Herasimtschuk added 12 and 11 points respectively. James Grevenitz also hit for double digits with 10 points. Jay Mustafa had 7 assists.

Boys Basketball: Eastside 61, Wayne Valley 46

Andrew Herasimtschuk had 13 points for Wayne Valley (6-4). Tom Larranaga and Justin D'Apolito added 10 points and 8 points respectively. Scott Arkin had 6 points. Herasimtschuk and Arkin had 4 boards apiece. D'Apolito and Anthony Verrilli had 3 assists apiece.

Wayne Valley 52, Ferris 38

Tom Larranaga tossed in 13 points and Andrew Herasimtschuk and Jay Mustafa had 10 points apiece for Wayne Valley at Ferris in Jersey City. Leading by five points at the intermission, Wayne Valley wrapped it up with a 14-7 third quarter. Herasimtschuk ripped down 13 rebounds. Mustafa had 7 boards. Scott Arkin had 9 points and 7 boards. Keith Benthal led all scorers with 25 points for Ferris.

Boys Basketball: DePaul 53, Hudson Catholic 42

Davon Jacobs led DePaul (6-4) with 20 points. Kiy Hester and Mas Aronson added 10 and 7 points respectively.

Boys Basketball: Ridgewood 50, Wayne Hills 42

Mike Driesse led Wayne Hills (3-7) with 18 points. Matt Heskins added 10 points.

Tom Larranaga scored 13 points, 11 coming during a 30-8 run to close out the game, leading Wayne Valley (5-4) past West Milford (7-2). Jay Mustafa had 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Andrew Keane led the team with 8 boards. Andrew Herasimtschuk contributed 6 rebounds.

Peter Daibes scored 19 points and hauled in 16 rebounds for Wayne Hills (3-6) in Wanaque.

Davon Jacobs had 24 points and 9 rebounds to lead DePaul (5-3). Josh Marquez added 16 points, 10 assists and 5 rebounds. Mas Aronson contributed 7 points and 5 rebounds. Valley (4-4) got 14 points and 8 rebounds from Andrew Herasimtschuk. James Grevenitz added 12 points and 4 rebounds. Scott Arkin had 8 points and 4 rebounds.

Tom Gaccione scored 13 of his career high 24 points in the third quarter when Passaic Valley used an 18-14 advantage to open a 42-38 lead in Wayne. Nick DiCristina added 13 points for Passaic Valley. Matt Heskins paced Wayne Hills with 15 points.

Davon Jacobs had 22 points, but DePaul (4-3) still lost. Na'fee Lighty and Josh Marquez had 11 and 11 points respectively.

Sam Pressler and Peter Daibes each scored 17 points, while Mike Driesse added 15 for Wayne Hills (3-3) in Clifton. Adrian Ramos was the lone double-digit scorer for Clifton with 14 points.

Anthony Verrilli had 13 points to lead Wayne Valley (3-2). Tom Larranaga and Andrew Herasimtschuk tallied 10 and 9 points respectively. Justin D'Apolito fired off 7 assists. Herasimtschuk had 6 boards. Pete Daibes, Sam Pressler and Matt Heskins had 9 points each for Wayne Hills (1-5).

Josh Marquez had 15 points, 5 boards, and 7 assists as DePaul (4-2) edged West Milford (5-1). Davon Jacobs registered 16 points and 6 rebounds. Kiy Hester had 15 points as well. Mas Aronson had a team-high 7 rebounds. Na’fee Lighty and Juwuan Carter had 5 boards apiece. Tyler Coyle led West Milford with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Connor Healy and Garvin Jones had 14 and 12 points respectively.

Boys Basketball: Valley's Homsi Possibly Lost For The Year

Chris Homsi, a junior who was averaging 13 points per game, suffered a dislocated right kneecap in Wayne Valley’s victory over Paramus a week ago and might miss the rest of the season. Compared to previous seasons, WV is undersized. Homsi, at 6-2, was the team's tallest returning regular player from last year.
