Senior Grant Ferrauilo threw for 286 yards, four touchdowns and ran for another (11 yards) as Wayne Valley (No. 3, 8-2) defeated Morris Knolls (No. 6, 6-4) in the Section I, Group IV quarterfinals. Senior Nick Gould led the ground attack with 137 rushing yards.
Senior Joe Scancarella caught 7 passes for 114 yards and two touchdowns (21 and 48 yards). Senior Elijah Beard had 72 receiving yards. Senior Jordan Montero had 70 receiving yards, including a 37 yard touchdown. Junior AJ Tedesco a 8 yard touchdown reception.
Wayne Valley now turns its attention to hosting Randolph (No. 7, 6-3) in the semifinals on Thanksgiving weekend (Date and Time TBA). Randolph upset Irvington (No 2, 8-2) in the semifinals yesterday. The Morris County powerhouse had to settle for the No. 7 seed after suffering a few uncharacteristic losses earlier in the year. They were bitten by the injury bug early, but are now reportedly playing at full-strength.
The Wayne Valley-Randolph semifinal winner will advance to the State Sectional Final at Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford. West Morris (No. 4) has also advanced to the semifinal. They beat Fair Lawn last night. Wayne Hills (No. 1) and Roxbury (No. 8) will cap off the quarterfinals tomorrow at Wayne Hills (2:30).
