The 1979 Wayne Valley football team. Long-time assistant coach Al Demarest (Third Row, second from the left) will enter the school annals at next month's annual ceremony. Bob Bishop, a current Hall of Famer and freshmen coach, was also on that staff (Third Row, far left). Ernie Zuberer (Third Row, far right) was the head coach.

Baseball: Wayne Valley Wraps Up A Successful Season
Each high school baseball season Wayne Valley head coach Jeff Hoover lays out a few very ambitious goals for his team. The list of annual objectives includes a 20 win season, a State Sectional Championship, a Passaic County Championship and a Big North Independence Divisional Championship.
“Those are four extremely high goals,” Hoover admits. “If you can accomplish one of those goals, you’ve had a great season.”
The 2015 Wayne Valley baseball team did a little more than that. They hit three goals – a 20 win season (22-7), a Big North Independence championship and a Passaic County Championship. They fell one game short of their fourth goal - a State Sectional Championship.
