Wayne Hills Baseball Off To A Hot Start

Dan Abate went 3-for-3 with two triples, three RBI and three runs to lead Wayne Hills to an 11-1 opening day win over Passaic Valley in Wayne. Dylan Habeeb went 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Brian Marcus went 1-for-3 with 2 RBI for Wayne Hills. Chris Philips went 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run and Ryan Maskal went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run in the win. Austin Phillips gave up one unearned run on four hits, struck out eight and walked three over 4 2/3 innings to earn the win.
Brian Dillon went 1-for-3 with an RBI for Passaic Valley.

Hills improved to 2-0 by besting West Milford, 8-6. Joe Simone's two-out, bases-clearing double in the bottom of the second inning was the key hit for Wayne Hills. After West Milford tied the game 6-6 on a Ryan Madonna RBI single in the third inning, Anthony Vigorito's suicide squeeze scored Dan Abate as Wayne Hills reclaimed a 7-6 lead. Simone finished 2-for-3 with two doubles and four RBI for Wayne Hills, which received two runs and two RBI from Joe Curcio. Ryan Madonna and Dylan Gieger each drove in a pair of runs for West Milford.
