Legendary Hanover Park baseball coach Dave Minsavage passed away
Thursday after an eight-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Minsavage
was the baseball coach at Wayne-based Neumann Prep in the late
80s and early 90s. Helead the 1989 team (above) to the State
Sectional Semifinals. Neumann Prep on Black Oak Ridge Road closed down
the following year. Minsavage went on to assist William Wear at Hanover
Park for five years and then took over as head coach. In 22 years as
head coach, he led Hanover Park to more than 300 wins, two Morris County
titles and two State Sectional titles. He was 53 years old. His death
was hard felt by the Neuammn Prep alumni community.
