JP Flynn Holiday Tournament: Wayne Valley 44, Poly Prep 36


Junior Nick Giuliano scored 16 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead Wayne Valley (3-1) to a 44-36 win over Poly Prep (Brooklyn, NY) in the semifinals of the JP Flynn Memorial Tournament in Morristown. Senior Kyle Greve added 12 points and 4 rebounds for Wayne Valley. Giuliano played a big part in the strong fourth quarter, scoring six of the game's last seven points, including four clutch free throws. Senior Charlie Onorato had 8 points and a team high 8 rebounds. Junior Nick Goodwin had 5 points and 5 boards. Greve, Goodwin and junior Alex Kokos had 3 assists apiece. David Dixon scored 12 points to lead Poly Prep.

"Nick Giuliano has led us to our three victories with his scoring, ball handling, improved defense, and much needed rebounding," said head coach Joe Leicht. "He has certainly maintained a high level of "all around" play."

Wayne Valley won this tournament last year. They will defend the title by playing Mendham in the finals Monday at 7 p.m. at Delbarton. Valley beat Mendham in the final last year.
