Defending champion Wayne Valley fought back from a seven-point third
quarter deficit to upend host Delbarton, 62-57, in the opening round of
the J.P. Flynn Memorial Tournament in Morris Township.
Junior guard Nick Giuliano scored a game-high 26 points to lead Wayne Valley (2-1). Senior guard Kyle Greve scored 19 points. Junior forward Nick Goodwin recorded his third straight double-double of
the season with 13 points and 13 rebounds for Wayne Valley. Junior Alex Kokos had 8 assists and 5 rebounds. Greve had 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Giuliano had 4 boards and Goodwin had 3 steals. Steve Clapp led Delbarton with 25 points, hitting three 3-pointers.
Wayne Valley will play Poly Prep of Brooklyn, New York in the semifinals at Delbarton on Saturday at 7 p.m. It will be the first game ever between the two schools.
