Chris Franco went 2-for-3 with two home runs and drove in five runs as
fifth-seeded Wayne Hills (15-10) defeated fourth-seeded Hawthorne, 7-1, in the
quarterfinals of the Passaic County Tournament in Hawthorne. Erik Moskal
pitched a three-hitter with four strikeouts and two walks for Wayne
Hills. Travis Peene hit a double for Hawthorne. Brennan Rowe also knocked in a run.
Hills will play top-seeded Lakeland in the semifinals next Saturday. Wayne Valley (No. 2) and Pompton Lakes (No. 3) will square off in the other semifinal game.
