Baseball Preview: Wayne Hills expects to compete with a solid returning lineup

Last year's successful Wayne Hills baseball season ended abruptly with a Passaic County Tournament final loss to DePaul on Memorial Day and then a State Sectional Tournament semifinal loss to West Milford the next day. Head coach Fran Rella, while disappointed, still took pride in the fact that his Patriots advanced far in both tournaments.

But then, in an instant, Kui changed everything.

The DePaul boys basketball team ran out of comebacks.
A week after the Spartans’ spectacular come-from-behind victory over Eastside in the Passaic County final, St. Peter’s Prep ended DePaul’s season decisively in the North Non-Public A semifinals. Senior forward Sean Cummings scored a team-high 23 points and junior guard Austin White added 20 to lead the second-seeded Marauders to a 95-69 win.
