Baseball: Wayne Valley 14, Lakeland 4

Anthony Simone homered and knocked in four runs. Matt Rugel added three RBI. Mike Elia and Vin Gleason batted in two runs apiece. Chris Santaniello doubled. Matt Kokos earned the win for Valley (9-6).

Baseball: Wayne Hills 7, Wayne Valley 2

Justin Avedissian had three hits and two RBI to pace Hills. Michael Abate, Josh Cote, Chris Amato and Eric Moskal knocked in runs as well. Steve Addesso had two hits. Amato fanned six Valley batters. Joe Duncan doubled and knocked in two runs for Valley.

Baseball: Kennedy 9, Wayne Valley 5

Mike Elia batted in two runs for Wayne Valley. Mike D'Amato and Eric Van Assen added one RBI apiece. Anthony Simone tripled.

Baseball: Wayne Hills 9, DePaul 0

Steve Adesso threw a three-hit shut out at DePaul. Jason Avedissian knocked in three runs. Mark Imbimbo knocked in two runs. Josh Cote had two hits and an RBI. DePaul's Sean Jones doubled.

Baseball: Wayne Valley coming into its own

Expectations were high last season for Wayne Valley because the Indians brought back most significant contributors from a team that won the Passaic County championship in 2010.


Not nearly as much was expected of the 2012 Indians, who had to replace six position players and ace Andrew Furber from a squad that again reached the Passaic County final. But Wayne Valley has played very respectable baseball during the first three weeks of the season. Click here to read more.

John Scar had four hits and six RBI for DePaul. Nick Fondacaro had two hits and two RBI. Mike Lembo had two hits and 1 RBI.

Eric Moskal had five hits to lead Hills. Josh Cote had two hits and four RBI. Michael Abate had two hits and three RBI. Chris Amato and Justin Avedissian had two hits each.

Baseball: Wayne Valley 12, Bloomfield 2

Mike Elia had three hits and two RBI to lead Valley. Anthony Simone homered, had another hit and drove two runs in. Eric Van Assen had two RBI and Matt Rugel had two hits. Brian Kokos surrendered just four hits.

Baseball: West Milford 4, Wayne Hills 2

Aidan Stewart wanted this win badly. West Milford lost his previous two starts
against Wayne Hills, even though the Highlanders’ senior right-hander pitched well
in both: 7-6 in 11 innings last season, and 2-0 on opening day nearly three weeks ago
when Stewart allowed only one earned run and struck out six in seven innings.
Wayne Hills managed nine hits off him Friday, but Stewart struck out nine Patriots, worked
out of jams in the first, fifth and seventh innings and finally beat them, 4-2. Click here to read more

Brian Kokos had 3 doubles and 1 RBI to lead Wayne Valley. Mike Cornell and Mike Elia had 2 hits and 1 RBI apiece. Vin Gleason knocked in two runs.

John Scar had three hits and two RBI to lead DePaul. Nick Fondacaro had three hits and one RBI. Mike Lembo had two hits and two RBI. Matt Betz had two hits and one RBI. Sean Jones knocked in two runs. George Monsen and Mike Sweeney both knocked in runs.

Chris Amato and Justin Avedissian homered for Hills. Amato led the team with three RBI.

Justin Avedissian knocked in 4 runs for Wayne Hills. Eric Moskal and Christian Rodriguez knocked in two each.

Steve Addesseo surrendered just three hits for Hills. Michael Abate, Evan Tayback, Josh Cote and Eric Moskal knocked in one run apiece.

John Scarr batted in two runs for DePaul. Matt Betz doubled in a run. Brian Kokos had two RBI for Wayne Valley. Mike Cornell doubled. Nick Fondacano earned the win for DePaul.

Erik Moskal had two RBI and surrendered just five hits to lead Wayne Hills. Chris Amato had two hits. Justin Avedissian and Jason Avedissian both knocked in runs. Greg Orlando had two hits and two RBI for PV. Nick Veltri also batted in a run.

Steve Addesso led the way with three RBI. Both Justin and Jason Avidissian had two hits. Imbimbo batted in a run.

Mike Elia and Matt Marks drove in two runs apiece. Mike Cornell tripled in a run. Gleason surrendered just three hits enroute to the victory. He also batted in a run.

Baseball: Wayne Valley 2, Wayne Hills 1

Brian Kokos scattered five hits, struk out four, singled twice and drove home a run to propel Valley (3-0) past Hills (2-1). Valley's Anthony Simone threw out a Hills baserunner at the plate for the third out of the fifth inning. Steven Adesso surrendered just four hits and fired seven strike outs for Hills. Eric Moskal led Hills with two hits. Chris Amato, Jason Avidissian and Mark Imbimbo also hit safely.

Baseball: DePaul 9, West Milford 7

Nick Fondacaro drove in three runs for DePaul (2-1). Mike Lembo earned the win and hit a two run homer

Junior rightfielder Anthony Simone's RBI single in the bottom of the 8th inning scored junior centerfielder Troy Garrett to lift Wayne Valley (2-0). Simone finished with two RBI. Mike Elia doubled twice. Vin Gleason picked up the win. Tommy Zaher, Jake Dericks and Vince Parrotta doubled for Pequannock.
